ICPC: Sole administrators risk arrest over LG funds

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) has completed its study with the collation of cash books, and payment vouchers from the remaining eight local government areas of Kaduna State
Competent sources in the commission told Daily Trust that the systematic study which was in batches, discovered malpractices in 15 area councils investigated earlier.

The state government couldn’t conduct elections in the local governments councils since the substantive chairmen were dissolved, thereby replacing them with sole administrators

Spokespersons of some of the affected local councils confirmed that some files have been taken away by the officials of the ICPC

The Head of Enlightenment in the ICPC Kaduna Zonal Office, Mariam Mu’azu, said the commission was still compiling report of the 15 local government areas earlier investigated with that of the eight local government areas and would send its systematic study findings to the Abuja headquarters for possible invitation of the officials involved for questioning

However, the commission, in a statement on Monday denied media report suggesting that local government officials stole N30 billion from the LGs funds.
