ICPC sensitizes 35 Permanent Secretaries

The Independent Corrupt Practices And Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in partnership with the office of the Head Of Service Of The Federation will hold an anti-corruption training for 35 Federal  Permanent Secretaries.

The workshop, which is to hold on thursday 16 May 2013 at NEW CHELSEA HOTEL behind the Defence College in Abuja by 9 am, is supported by the  Justice For All program of DFID. It is aimed  to assist the permanent secretaries to understand the functions of Anti- Corruption Transparency Units (ACTUs) in their various ministries.

The ACTUs have ethics and compliance officers in ministries to check abuse of corruption in day to day transactions among government officials.

The workshop will also provide the chief executives with the context to better appreciate the role of organizational ethics, broader functions of ACTUS.

ACTUS are domiciled with each ministry and agency and function both as anti-corruption vanguards as well as ethics and integrity units.

Members of ACTUs are expected to monitor report and provide advice on integrity issues in their various ministries and agencies.
