ICPC Sentisizes Senior Police Officers In Jigawa State

The Kano State Office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) recently organized a sensitization workshop for the senior Police Officers of Jigawa State Command.

The workshop with a theme “ The Role of Nigerian Police in the Fight Against Corruption” was aimed at sensitizing the senior Police Officers of the Command on the ills of Corruption, how to refrain from it and establishing a meaningful collaboration between the ICPC and the Police in fighting Corruption within and outside the Police formations.

The ICPC Chairman Barr Ekpo Nta, represented by Deputy Commissioner Bako Nathan, commended the Inspector-General of Police M.D Abubakar for his efforts in restoring public confidence in the Nigeria Police and praised the Jigawa State Police Command for partnering with the ICPC in organizing the sensitization workshop against corruption.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Occasion, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Babankowa, a retired Commissioner of Police, stressed the relevance of the sensitization workshop as it could restore the past glory of the force and therefore urged the participants to pay attention to Resource Persons and learn from their presentations.

Resource persons at the programme include former AIG of Police Bashir Albasu, Deputy Commissioner from ICPC Bako Nathan and Barr Ibrahim Umar from Umar Yar`adua University, Katsina. The workshop ended with an interactive session.
