ICPC has recovered the sum of N10 million attempted fraud money from some officials of the Enugu State Primary Education Board (ESPEB).
Acting on a petition submitted by some teachers of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area, operatives of ICPC carried out investigations which uncovered the plot to embezzle the money which was meant for the payment of salaries and other entitlements of teachers in the Local Government.
The suspects in the attempted fraud include Mr. J.E. Chukwuani, Head of Accounts, and several other officials of the ESPEB.
However, with the intervention of ICPC, the money has been retrieved from the suspects and the teachers have been paid accordingly.
Brimming with joy, the teachers have written to ICPC commending its efforts in the unraveling of the attempted fraud and subsequent recovery of their money
