The ICPC on Monday filed a criminal suit against former Inspector-General of Police, Mr Sunday Ehindero over his involvement is a N557 million arms and ammunition scandal.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commission also listed the suspended Commissioner of Police in charge of Budgets at the Force Headquarters, Mr John Obaniyi, in the suit.
The suit, with file number FCT/HC/CR/92/2012, was filed on behalf of the ICPC by prosecution counsel, Mr Paul Bassi.
It would be recalled that the ICPC, on April 2, quizzed the former police boss on the alleged misappropriation of the sum during his tenure.
The commission will, on June 6, file an application to Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi of the FCT High Court 4, Maitama, who has been assigned the case, to grant it leave to arraign Ehindero and Obaniyi.
Ehindero was the Inspector General of the Nigeria Police from 2005 to 2007.
