The award was presented to him recently at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja by AFIA President, Dr. Victoria Enape, during a courtesy call.

Presenting the award, she said that the award was conferred on the Chairman in view of his passion and desire to eradicate corruption and corrupt practices from Nigeria.

Enape, while encouraging the Chairman to keep up with the good work also praised him, saying that the impact of his anti-corruption efforts is being felt in Nigeria.

Dr. Enape also said that in view of the present administration’s commitment to tackling and eradicating corruption in the country, AFIA was at the Commission to seek collaboration in the area of training for members of AFIA and other professionals for the purpose of contributing their quota to the anti-corruption crusade in Nigeria.

She also used the forum to crave the Chairman’s indulgence in supporting the association in their effort at ensuring the passage and signing into law of the AFIA bill which will help bring sanity into the practice of forensic auditing in Nigeria.

The ICPC Chairman, while receiving the award, expressed gratitude to AFIA, saying that the Commission was willing to partner with the association.

He advised the association to start thinking of designing systems that would plug loopholes for corruption in the auditing process.

In respect of the request for training, Mr. Nta told AFIA to avail its members the opportunity for specialised training on offer at the ICPC training school, the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN), Keffi.

He suggested to AFIA that while running their conferences, they could pick one sector of Nigeria’s economy and come up with an anti-corruption solution that could be applied to solve corruption challenges peculiar to such sectors.
