ICPC’s Ag. Chairman Charges Operatives on Dedication, Commitment …Promises to handover a Virile, Disciplined Work-Force to In-Coming Board

The Acting Chairman, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Hon. Abdullahi Bako, has charged operatives of the Commission to be dedicated and committed in carrying out their duties in order to achieve the goal of establishing the agency.

Hon. Bako made the charge while  declaring open a 3-day training retreat for the Commission’s zonal and state commissioners held at the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN), Keffi, ICPC’s research and training institute.

The Acting Chairman who was represented by the Head of Investigation Department, Mr. Kayode Adedayo, explained that for ICPC to achieve its mandate of ridding the nation of all forms of corruption and related offences, it was imperative to “re-strategize and re-direct skills towards achieving maximum results.”

According to him, “I am particularly concerned about the dedication and commitment of all staff to meeting the expectations of our numerous stakeholders, to this end you all need to re-tool and re-focus your staff towards better productivity. The days of loitering and poor job performance are gone.”

He further emphasized that the essence of the retreat was to equip the officers of the Commission with requisite skills and knowledge that would enhance their performance in order to achieve the desired objective.

Hon. Bako also cautioned the trainees against acts that were inimical to the ideals of ICPC, saying that the Commission would not hesitate to discipline any erring officer.

He then expressed his resolve and determination to handover a virile and disciplined work-force to the in-coming administration for a better Commission.

The 3-day retreat provided a platform for zonal and state commissioners to discuss how to improve on work in the zonal and state offices for greater impact.
