The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has expressed its willingness to partner with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to reduce the menace of corruption in the nation’s health sector.
The Chairman of the Commission Mr. Ekpo Nta, represented by the Secretary to the Commission, Dr. Elvis Oglafa, disclosed this during a courtesy visit of the Executive Secretary, NHIS, Professor Usman Yusuf and his management staff to ICPC.
Mr. Nta stated that the Commission was ready to collaborate with NHIS to achieve its mandate of health service delivery through systems study and constant evaluation of the agency.
He further expressed satisfaction with the analysis of the problems facing the scheme as enumerated by the Executive Secretary in order to proffer solutions to them, saying it was a wise decision.
Earlier in his remarks, the Executive Secretary NHIS had solicited for the support of ICPC in the fight against corruption in the Scheme.
According to him, his willingness to rid his agency of corruption was the driving force behind his visit to the Commission to partner with ICPC.
