The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Katsina State Safety and Road Traffic Authority (KASSAROTA) have pledged to work together in the bid to strengthen the fight against corruption in the state.

This pledge was made when the ICPC Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC) of Katsina State, Mr. Lodam Samuel, paid a courtesy call visit to the Management of KASSAROTA in the state capital.

Samuel stressed the critical roles that various sectors, including road traffic authorities, play in the escalation or mitigation of corrupt practices.

While appreciating the enormous work KASSAROTA was doing in the state, the RACC solicited the agency’s support in implementing strategies aimed at promoting anti-corruption measures.

“We will continue the collaboration with other credible stakeholders and other civil society groups in the state to project our activities to the public in the fight against corruption”.

“There is a strong need to work with an agency like yours to achieve the desired result towards creating public awareness and fostering the support of Katsina State citizens for the overall development of the state,” He added.

In his response, KASSAROTA Boss, Major Garba Yahaya Rimi (RTD) expressed interest in the submissions made by the ICPC, emphasizing that “the importance of integrity in the road traffic “motivated us to further seek additional collaborations with the Commission in the field of sensitization and public enlightenment and education on and against corruption.” Rimi said.

Rimi also commended the ICPC’s initiatives and its activities towards a corruption-free Nigeria.
