In recognition of his unwavering dedication to accountability, youth empowerment, and national cohesion, Alhaji Musa Ibrahim Alkali, mni, the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has been bestowed with the prestigious Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum Integrity Leadership Award and honoured with the traditional title of Garkuwan Matasan Arewa (The Shield of Northern Youth).

The honour was conferred upon Alhaji Alkali by the Northern Youth Organization of Nigeria (NYON) during a ceremony held recently in his office. The delegation, led by the organisation’s President, Dr Isah Ododo, and supported by Secretary General Hon. Verlumun Gajir, also inducted the ICPC Director into its “Hall of Fame”, granting him the additional recognition of Vanguard of Good Leadership & Epitome of Hope.

In a citation presented to Alhaji Alkali and dated 10th March 2026, the NYON described him as a “true patriot” whose selfless contributions are helping to shape modern Nigeria. The award follows a resolution passed at the organisation’s 13th congress, held at Arewa House in Kaduna.

“At a time when national peace and integration are most topical, what seems most imperative is building bridges of national unity and cohesion,” the citation read. “Hence, after thorough scrutiny, we found you a worthy recipient.”

The Northern Youth Organization, which describes itself as the apex umbrella body for youth groups across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, stated that Alhaji Alkali’s nomination was based on his “relentless effort towards upholding accountability, probity, [and] prudent and transparent management of both men and resources to the benefit of humanity.”

While presenting the award, Dr Isah Ododo praised Alhaji Alkali’s philanthropic gestures and his passion for youth empowerment and critical infrastructure development. “Sir, you are indeed a hero,” Dr Ododo remarked. “This is our small way of appreciating your passion and commitment to the progress of Nigeria.”

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries and colleagues of the ICPC Director. The presentation of the Sir Ahmadu Bello Platinum Integrity Leadership Award is viewed as a significant acknowledgement of Alhaji Alkali’s contributions to good governance and ethical leadership in Nigeria.

Accepting the award, Alhaji Musa Alkali dedicated it to the ICPC, stressing that the fight against corruption is a collective responsibility. He pledged to continue his efforts in promoting transparency and probity in public service, serving as an inspiration to the youth of the region.
