The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has compelled the management of Eagle View Concept, Limited, to pay N10.56 million backlog of salaries to its staff.
Eagle View Concept, Limited, a security service company contracted by the moribund Nigeria Telecommunication (NITEL) was owing 141 staff members six months’ salary following the termination of their contract by NITEL.
Some of the staff who wrote a petition to ICPC claimed that they were employed in 2011 to work as security men; however the company failed to pay them their monthly salaries for six months in 2013.
In the course of investigation the Commission discovered that the accumulated arrears were due to the non-receipt of funds from NITEL by the company.
Eagle View Concept Limited however received N13.5 million in August 2015 from NITEL following the intervention of ICPC, which has led it to pay 116 staff members the backlog of salaries.
The company claimed that 25 staff members were left out of the payment because 20 of them did not meet the requirements for payment such as failing to supply Bank Verification Number (BVN) while 5 others were deceased and because of lack of information on their next-of-kin, the company could not process payment to their rightful beneficiaries.
