Act with Integrity and Discipline – ICPC Secretary Charges Public Servants

The Secretary of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Clifford Oparaodu, Esq., has charged the leadership of the ICPC Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited to operate its newly recommissioned fuel station with the highest levels of integrity, discipline, and transparency.

Presiding over the recommissioning of the long-dormant facility at the Commission’s headquarters, Oparaodu set the tone for the venture, defining it as a critical project for economic sustainability and member benefits.

The Secretary commended the cooperative’s leadership for reviving the facility, calling it a mark of “purposeful governance.” He went beyond ceremonial duties to issue direct operational directives, urging members to be responsible with loans to ensure the venture’s growth.

“If you borrow, please pay back so that others can also benefit,” Oparaodu stated, explaining that timely repayments were crucial for the cooperative’s prosperity.

The Secretary also directed the Cooperative’s operational partners to prioritise service to ICPC staff and maintain unwavering integrity, especially during periods of fuel scarcity. He assured that reliable and honest service would be the foundation for continued patronage.

In response, the President of the Cooperative, Mr. Sagir Mohammed Yunusa, hailed the project as a “major milestone” achieved under the Secretary’s oversight, reaffirming the leadership’s commitment to the principles of transparency and accountability emphasised by Oparaodu.

A representative from FyneField, the station’s operational partner, Mohammed Suleiman, assured the Secretary and members of pump accuracy and quality service.

The event concluded with the ICPC Secretary’s charge for integrity and service, setting the operational standard for the cooperative’s future, which includes plans to expand into other petroleum products.
