ICPC, DSS Foster Unified Approach for Stronger Collaboration in Oyo State

In a renewed push to break down institutional silos and foster a unified approach to national development, the Oyo State Office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has paid a formal courtesy visit to the State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The high-level meeting, held at the DSS command headquarters, underscored a shared commitment to deepening inter-agency cooperation, enhancing intelligence sharing, and advancing the twin causes of public accountability and national security.

Speaking during the visit, the ICPC’s Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC), Barr. Chile Ogwuegbu expressed sincere appreciation for the warm reception accorded to his delegation.

He lauded the cordial and productive relationship that already exists between both agencies, noting that such strategic synergy has continued to significantly bolster the effective discharge of their respective mandates.

“Sustained collaboration among government institutions is not merely beneficial—it is vital,” Mr Ogwuegbu emphasised. “It is the bedrock of public accountability, the guardian of national security, and the engine of national development.”

In his response, the Oyo State Director of the DSS, Mr Usman Biu, welcomed the ICPC leadership and reiterated that no agency can function effectively in isolation. He called for deeper, more deliberate cooperation across all public institutions, stressing that collective effort is the only path to a stable, secure, and prosperous society.

“No agency is an island. We must all work together. All hands must be on deck to build the society, the state, and the nation we need,” Mr Biu stated. “Building our country is the ultimate goal, and that can only be achieved through patriotism, genuine cooperation, and robust intelligence sharing amongst all relevant agencies.”

The meeting allowed both organisations to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships, promoting a culture of patriotic service, enhancing operational intelligence sharing, and fostering a united front in tackling the multifaceted challenges confronting the nation.
