ICPC Kaduna Seeks Media Collaboration with KSMC

In a bid to enhance public awareness and institutional accountability, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) Kaduna State Office has expressed readiness to partner with the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC).

The intent was made known during a courtesy visit to the management of KSMC by the ICPC Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC) for Kaduna State, Mr. Sakaba Ishaku. The visit aimed to strengthen inter-agency relations and explore opportunities for broader collaboration in civic education and enforcement.

In his remarks, Mr. Ishaku emphasized the importance of synergy between regulatory and media institutions in ensuring greater adherence to public service rules. He noted that while ICPC holds a mandate for enforcement and asset recovery, support from key media partners such as KSMC will significantly advance its efforts in prevention and public enlightenment.

“The cooperation from KSMC will go a long way,” he said. “ICPC is not just focused on prosecution, but on building systems that reduce the opportunities for misconduct in the first place.”

Responding, the Managing Director of KSMC, Mr. Ahmad Maiyaki, reaffirmed the media corporation’s commitment to supporting ICPC’s mandate. He described the Commission as a credible institution with a reputation for professionalism and effectiveness without sensationalism.

“We maintain an open policy that fosters collaboration with credible institutions like ICPC,” Mr. Maiyaki said, adding that KSMC would offer the Commission preferential media rates and dedicated airtime to support ongoing public enlightenment efforts.

He also invited the Commission to participate in Kalaci, KSMC’s civic education programme broadcast in English and Hausa, as a platform for community-level engagement.

The visit concluded with an exchange of ideas and a group photograph to mark the beginning of what both agencies described as a mutually beneficial partnership.
