ICPC Partners with DSS in Kogi State to Fight Corruption

The Kogi State office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC)  has committed to working with the Department of State Services (DSS) to fight corruption in the state.

This commitment was reached on the heels of a courtesy visit to the DSS office led by the Kogi State Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner (RACC), Mr Zayyana A DanMusa.

Explaining the purpose of the visit, the RACC stated that ICPC would like to collaborate with the DSS in the areas of information and intelligence-sharing, emphasizing the pivotal role of intelligence in the war against crime and criminality.

Mr Zayyana specifically highlighted some key areas of interest to the Commission, including: illicit financial flows, sexual harassment in higher institutions, unexplained wealth, currency counterfeiting, and money laundering.

The RACC concluded by stating that no single agency of government can stand alone and achieve its mandate without inter-agency collaboration and support.

In his response, the Kogi State Director DSS, Mr Tajudeen Olomomi Adeogun,fsi pledged his unflinching support and cooperation, saying that “mutual assistance from his agency’s part is a given and there will be no hesitation on his part whenever the need to liaise arises”.

Mr. Adeogun commended ICPC for the important role they play in the fight against Corruption, particularly in today’s Nigeria, where Corruption and insecurity seem to be rampant. 

He went on to encourage the Commission not to relent in the good work they are doing.
