The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Akwa Ibom State Office, has renewed its grassroots anti-corruption drive with the sensitisation and presentation of certificates to members of the ICPC/NYSC Anti-Corruption Community Development Service (CDS) Group, University of Uyo Chapter. The event, held recently, highlighted the Commission’s ongoing effort to engage young Nigerians as vital partners in combating corruption nationwide.

In her keynote address, Mrs Hope Wobo, Public Enlightenment and Education (PE&E) Officer, outlined the core mandates of the Commission and emphasised that the fight against corruption cannot be left solely to ICPC. She urged the Corps Members to cultivate patriotism, honesty, and integrity, noting that these values remain indispensable to national development. According to her, tackling corruption is a collective responsibility and every citizen has a role to play.
The sensitisation session provided participants with insights into the nature of corruption, preventive measures, and the importance of ethical conduct in both public and private life.
At the close of the discussions, certificates of participation were presented to the Corps Members in recognition of their dedication and active contributions to the objectives of the CDS group.

The outgoing Vice President, Miss Ekeng Dorcas Afo, offered a closing prayer, seeking continued guidance and commitment for all members. This was followed by a vote of thanks delivered by the President, Mr Oyinlola Rasaq Adebare, who expressed appreciation to ICPC officials and participants for their support and cooperation.
The ceremony, attended by nine dedicated Corps Members, ended on a note of renewed resolve. Participants departed with a deeper understanding of their civic responsibilities and a strengthened commitment to promoting integrity within their spheres of influence.
