The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reaffirmed its resolve to deepen partnerships with relevant stakeholders in Benue State to strengthen the fight against corruption and entrench good governance.
This commitment was made by the Resident Anti-Corruption Commissioner of ICPC, Benue State Command, Mr. Mustapha Wala, during a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner of Lands, Survey, Urban and Regional Planning, Reverend (Dr.) Fredrick Ikyaan, in Makurdi.
Mr. Wala emphasised that the Commission was open to collaboration on critical areas such as System Study and Review, Corruption Risk Assessment, as well as sustained public education, enlightenment and sensitisation campaigns.
“Fighting corruption requires a multi-stakeholder approach, and our partnership with ministries and agencies is key to plugging leakages and strengthening accountability structures,” he stated.
In his response, Reverend Dr. Ikyaan lauded the ICPC’s proactive and people-focused approach to tackling corruption, describing it as distinct from other law enforcement agencies.
“What sets ICPC apart is its openness, approachability, and preventive mandates. This gives us confidence that a strong synergy with the Commission will yield long-lasting impact,” he noted.
The Commissioner further pledged to support ICPC’s operations in Benue State.
According to him, “ensuring cooperation with ICPC’s operations in the State will go a long way in boosting public trust in good governance”
The visit ended on a note of mutual commitment to intensify collaboration aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity in land administration and beyond.
