Akwa Ibom State Office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), in collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has today conducted a sensitisation and certificate presentation ceremony for the Batch A Stream 2 members of the ICPC/NYSC Anti-Corruption Community Development Service (CDS) Group.
The event, which held simultaneously for corps members serving in Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area Chapter and Essien-Udim (Ukana) Local Government Area, was designed to deepen the anti-corruption message across grassroots communities.Â
Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Hope Wobo, the Public Enlightenment and Education (PE&E) Officer, delivered a powerful lecture on the core mandate of the Commission. She urged corps members to embrace patriotism and honesty as indispensable virtues in the fight against corruption.
In addition to the sensitisation, a peaceful and transparent election was conducted for the Ikot Ekpene group. The process was monitored by Mrs. Wobo, who serves as the PE&E Officer, leading to the emergence of a new set of executives tasked with taking over the leadership baton from the outgoing team.
The high point of the event was the distribution of certificates of participation to all attendees, recognising their active involvement and dedication to the group’s objectives. A total of 18 committed corps members were in attendance, underscoring their resolve to champion integrity and accountability.
The occasion drew to a close with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Akubue Martins Ebuka, President of the Ikot Ekpene Chapter. He expressed profound gratitude to the facilitators and participants for their unwavering dedication, while also celebrating the continued success of the group’s anti-corruption mission.
