ICPC Chairman Honored as Anti-Corruption Champion of the Year 2024

The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, has been recognized as the Anti-Corruption Champion of the Year 2024 by Top 10 Magazine.

The prestigious award acknowledges his outstanding leadership, unwavering commitment to the rule of law, and adherence to international best practices, significantly strengthening the Commission’s credibility and fostering strategic partnerships across Nigeria.

Dr. Aliyu, represented by the Director of the Public Enlightenment and Education Department, Mr. Demola Bakare, received the award at a recent ceremony in Abuja. In his acceptance remarks, Mr. Bakare highlighted that the ICPC’s achievements under Dr. Aliyu’s leadership are rooted in his firm dedication to due process and the rule of law.

“ICPC remains steadfast in its mission to minimize corruption and related offenses through strict adherence to legal procedures. We are honored by this recognition, which reaffirms our commitment to integrity, accountability, and excellence,” Mr. Bakare stated.

The event’s convener, Mr. Tony Iji, emphasized Dr. Aliyu’s transformative leadership in strengthening the Commission’s operational framework, making it more efficient and resistant to abuse.

Highlighting the impact of his tenure, Mr. Iji noted that Dr. Aliyu’s anti-corruption agenda, encapsulated in the CARE Initiative – Culture, Accountability, Responsibility, and Efficiency—has propelled the Commission to adopt proactive measures for corruption prevention while maintaining robust enforcement mechanisms.

The Top 10 Magazine 2024 Awards celebrate outstanding government officials with remarkable service records. Other distinguished honorees include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, recognized as Man of the Year, and the Minister of Arts, Culture, and Tourism, Mrs. Hannatu Musawa, awarded Female Public Service Game Changer.
