ICPC Recovers Property for Petitioner

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has been lauded for its prompt intervention and recovery of a plot of land belonging to one Mr. Emeka Agbo which was fraudulently taken from him by some officials of the Gwagwalada lands office.

Mr. Agbo had made several efforts to get back his plot of land but all did not yield any positive result until he sent a petition to the Commission alleging fraudulent denial of the possession of his plot of land with number 393.

Acting on the petition, ICPC immediately commenced investigations to determine the veracity of the claim and when it established that his allegation was true, the Commission ordered that the petitioner be compensated. The order resulted in the allocation of another plot with number 1362a to the petitioner.

In a letter of appreciation to the Commission, Agbo lauded ICPC for timely intervention in the matter. He stated that within months ICPC secured justice for him. He also used the medium to call on the Commission to remain committed to fairness and justice in the execution of its mandate.

Part of the letter reads “I write to appreciate the Commission for the services rendered on my behalf at Gwagwalada land office via Abuja Geographic Information Services, (AGIS).

‘The team of officials led by Mr. James Udom was able to secure compensation reward in respect of my former plot number 393 which officials of Gwagwalada Land office fraudulently denied me possession through dubious means.

‘When all effort to get justice failed, I petitioned the Commission…, and with their intervention I was compensated with another allocation…”
