The Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offenses (ICPC) has declared that women are agent of change who can inspire sustainable transformation and create new environment not only for themselves and children but the community at large.
The ICPC Commissioner in charge of Edo/Delta, Olukile Olusesan, said this while speaking during a meeting with the Edo Women Alliance against Corruption, held in Benin, Wednesday.
He noted that women are powerful and full of untapped potentials that can be deployed effectively against corruption.
He said the agency will partner with Edo women in the fight against corruption.
While expressing optimism that the partnership would yield positive results, he said the meeting was inspired by the conviction that women has the capacity to drive home the need to disparage corruption and other related social vices that are detrimental to societal development.
Olusesan explained that President Mohammadu Buhari has demonstrated the political will, total commitment and determination to fight corruption irrespective of the odds, saying that what is needed from Nigerians is total support and commitment.
Earlier the Coordinator, International Reproductive Rights, Research Action Group, Mrs. Jane Osagie, described the meeting as apt, saying that the partnership would give them the opportunity to offer suggestions in the fight against corruption.
