The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Mr. Ekpo Nta, has been honored with an “Imperial Ambassador for Peace” award by the Nigeria Youth Peace Assembly (NYPA).
The leader of the group, Comrade Michael Yakubu, while presenting the award to Nta during a courtesy visit to the Commission recently said that it was befitting for the Chairman given his contributions to youth and student empowerment as well as service to humanity for equity and justice.
In his words: “The role that you have played in Nigeria towards our much needed national development particularly in the recovery of huge monies and properties looted by various government officials and ensuring easy interaction between members of the public on the fight against corruption is commendable”.
While receiving the award on behalf of the Chairman, the Head of the Planning, Research and Review Department, ICPC, Mr. Bala Mohammed, declared that the Commission was encouraged when youths come together to participate in nation-building especially as ICPC was actively engaged in mobilising youths to stand up against corruption.
In her remarks, the Acting Head of Education Department, Mrs. Azuka Ogugua, charged the youths to imbibe all the qualities they saw in the Hon. Chairman which have made them to honour him.
