The Acting Chairman of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Dr. Musa Usman Abubakar, has called on Nigerian students to exhibit zero tolerance for corruption.
The Acting Chairman who was represented by Ashiru Baba, Director, Education Department, ICPC, made the call during an excursion by students of Kick Start Academy, Suleja to the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, recently.
Dr. Abubakar urged the students to imbibe the virtues of integrity, honesty, punctuality and decency as future leaders.
Earlier, the Principal of the school, Mr. James Okwute, had noted that ‘’learning in the classroom alone was not enough’’ as such they had decided to visit ICPC to add to the knowledge that would help shape the character and attitude of the children.
He commended ICPC for its efforts in educating and enlightening students all over the country through laudable initiatives such as the Students Anti-Corruption Club which has been established in hundreds of schools.
The visit ended with a slide presentation on personal integrity by Azuka Ogugua, an Assistant Director in the Education Department, ICPC. Some students asked questions to which appropriate answers were given, and they expressed satisfaction, promising to put into practice what they had learned.
