In their efforts to contribute their quota to the fight against corruption, members of National Youth Service Corps/Anti-Corruption Community Development Service (CDS) group, Lagos State Chapter recently organised an anti-corruption sensitization rally in Lagos.
It should be recalled that Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in collaboration with NYSC came up with the initiative of setting up a Community Development Service programme to enlighten and sensitize corps-members against the ills of corruption in the society and to also create a platform upon which they can support the fight against corruption.
The initiative also provides the anti-graft agencies with the medium through which the culture of integrity, transparency and accountability can be inculcated into the youth so that they can grow into future leaders to blend these virtues of tradition with the values of modernity. Against this backdrop, the Lagos Chapter of the CDS group came up with a strategy to extend this anti-corruption sensitization and awareness drive to members of their host community.
To drive home this laudable initiative, the youth corps-members came out in their numbers for the sensitization rally through distribution of anti-corruption posters, fliers, and branded wrist bands to the public.
